What does Phil do?
He is an experienced professional singer and provides a whole evening’s wedding entertainment including live sets, background music and disco dance.
What kind of songs does Phil sing?
He covers music from Roy Orbison to Robbie Williams, swing to soul and motown, The Blues Brothers/The Commitments, rock ‘n roll and a set of ‘The Songs of Tom Jones’. See the Playlist section.
Are there any audio/video clips we can listen to?
Yes, please go to the Music section for free downloads. Alternatively phone him for a free CD or DVD.
Where can we see Phil perform?
Please phone him for details on venue, date, time etc.
How long does Phil play for?
He normally plays three sets (30/45 minutes) between 7pm and 12pm, with pre-recorded background music as the guests arrive and disco dance CDs in his breaks.
Does Phil perform the song for the first dance?
Yes. If the favourite song is not on his playlist then he will acquire the backing track if available, at no extra cost.
Does Phil do requests?
Yes. He normally refers the bride and groom to his playlist and suggests that they tick off songs they would like to hear and cross out those they are not keen on. He will then take this into consideration when planning his performance.
Can Phil provide background music?
Yes, he can play pre-recorded background music prior to and in between sets.
Can Phil provide a disco?
He does not as such provide a disco where your guests can make requests. However he will play 70’s style disco CDs during his breaks.
Does Phil provide karaoke?
No. He is an established professional singer. Unfortunately there is no possibility of guests getting up to sing as they would not be covered by his Public Liability insurance.
How much does Phil charge?
This depends on the location, duration of performance and the particular requirements of the client. He likes to personalise each wedding and it is important therefore that he has the opportunity to chat with you before providing you with a no obligation quote.
When does Phil require payment?
A deposit will be required to secure the date, the balance to be settled in cash on the night prior to performance.
How do we enquire about booking Phil?

How far does Phil travel?
He is based in the South West of England but he is available throughout the UK.

Does Phil provide his own sound system and lighting?
Yes. The sound system is a Bose L1 System. The lighting is NJD Quartet 1200 watt dichroic floodlights for stage lighting and NJD Datamoon effects lamps for projection onto the dance floor.
How can we know that Phil’s sound level will not be too loud?
His sound equipment is a state-of-the art Bose L1 System which uses sound wave technology where the clarity of sound and volume level remains constant from source to the back of the room. This means that he can adjust the level to be comfortable (see pro.bose.com).
How long does Phil need to set up?
When the set up includes full stage lighting he requires 1 ½ hours.
Can Phil set up during the daytime?
Yes, in any event he likes to visit the venue by appointment to orientate himself with regard to access, load in, layout, set up area etc.
How big an area does Phil require to set up in?
With full lighting rig it needs to be minimum 3m x 1.5m (10’ x 5’), height minimum 2.2m (7’).
Does Phil need a dressing room?
Yes if possible as he has several costume changes during the evening.
Does Phil have a Portable Appliance Testing certificate?
Yes, copy available on request.
Does Phil have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes to the value of £10m, copy available on request.
