Sound and Lighting

Sound System

A state-of-the art Bose L1 System which uses sound wave technology where the clarity of sound and volume level remains constant from source to the back of the room.  The sound level can therefore be adjusted to be comfortable (see pro.bose.com).

Projects clean, detailed sound evenly across the stage and throughout an audience of up to several hundred, with little change in tone or volume.

Phil uses the Bose with a separate Yamaha MG8/2FX mixing desk, two minidisk decks and a Sennheiser EW345 radio microphone.

Lighting Systems

NJD Quartet 1200 watt dichroic floodlights

Designed to provide the maximum amount of light with the minimum of complexity, the Quartet has four 300 Watt lamps fitted with four dichroic filters, blue, red, amber and green.  All four channels lit simultaneously provides 1200 Watts of white light (all four colours mixed produces white).

Phil uses two Quartets (one on each side of the stage) and a foot operated lighting controller (Q-pedal) which provides four channel sound chaser, flood and blackout.

NJD Datamoon effects lamps

Designed to independently run through a comprehensive series of pre-programmed patterns and effects activated by its own built in microphone.

Phil uses two Datamoons with a dedicated NJD controller which synchronizes the lights and provides for manual control and a multitude of pre-programmed and user programmed effects and sequences.
