Biography
On the road in the UK and on the Continent
A full time, professional vocalist Phil has many years experience beginning in bands (or beat groups as they were then referred to!) in the mid-60’s. Initially working mainly in the Midlands he went on to spend the period from the late 60’s to the mid-70’s working on the Continent - Germany, Holland and Finland; in addition to some considerable time spent on the road in the UK.
Living abroad then back to the UK
He then resided in Norway for some 14 years where he sang semi-pro with various types of bands. Following his return to England in 1992 he worked with a five piece Bristol based covers band operating in Wales and the South West.
Professional again, now going solo
In May 1995 Phil resumed his professional career now as a solo vocalist using high quality professionally recorded backing tracks on mini-disk. He maintains a state of the art PA system to consistently ensure a full, clear sound always at a volume suitable to the audience and venue. He also carries his own stage lighting system and effects lighting system where required.
His music includes swing, soul and motown, from Roy Orbison to Robbie Williams
With a powerful voice and an extensive vocal range Phil sings both ballads and up tempo numbers in his unique style. A wide repertoire enables him to adapt his act according to audience preferences. He can be booked for cabaret or a whole evening’s entertainment at weddings, birthday and anniversary parties or corporate functions, social clubs etc.
In addition
Phil holds full Equity (the actors, entertainers and performers union) membership and is a member of the West of England Variety Branch. A facility of Equity membership and one which should be of prime interest to all bookers regardless of status is that Phil carries Public Liability insurance of up to £10 million.

Phil is also an actor and has been supporting artist in a variety of films such as The Da Vinci Code, Proof, Closer, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, The Queen and Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day plus TV productions such as Only Fools and Horses, Cranford, Bertie & Elizabeth, Days That Shook The World (about
Concorde) and Dalziel & Pascoe (as a singer).
